About this tool
Short, predictable subdomains such as blog., api., docs. and status. are easy for people to guess and for your team to manage. Pick the services you need and you'll get the most common name for each, plus alternatives. Whatever you choose, use the same style everywhere: all lowercase, single words or hyphens, and no underscores (they aren't valid in host names).
If you run staging copies, think about certificates before choosing a pattern. A wildcard certificate for *.example.com covers one level only, so api-staging.example.com is covered but staging.api.example.com needs a certificate of its own. Keep admin and staging sites behind a login or IP restriction too, because subdomain names are public in certificate transparency logs.
