What this is
EverydayTools is a set of 1077 converters, calculators, generators and checkers. Some are for developers (JSON, regular expressions, hashing), some are for the workplace (till counting, staffing, shift and asset tools), and some are just for fun. The idea is simple: be useful enough that you come back for something different every day, and never make you sign up to do it.
How it works
- It runs in your browser. The tools are written in JavaScript that runs on your own device. There are no accounts, and what you type or the files you open are not uploaded to our servers.
- A few tools use an outside service. A small number of Geo tools, such as IP lookups and place search, have to ask another service to do the job. Those tools say so on the page, and the Privacy page lists them.
- Some tools remember things on your device. The Retail Tools logs, for example, keep your entries in your browser so they are still there tomorrow. Where a tool does this it offers Export and Import so you can keep your own backup or move to another device.
- Copying is built in. Almost every result has a Copy button, because most people want to take the answer somewhere else.
What you'll find
- Text — strings, ASCII and Unicode, lists
- Data — JSON, regex, encoding, SQL
- Security — hashing and encryption
- Time — dates and timestamps
- Design — colours, CSS and images
- Numbers — calculators, maths, retail tools, health and fitness
- More — geo, generators, office tools, finance, accessibility, legal generators, home and DIY
- Fun — games, chance, dates and miscellany
You can also jump straight to a tool with the search box on the home page, which remembers the tools you use most on your own device.
Please use your judgement
The tools are provided as they are. Calculators give estimates and are no substitute for checking figures that matter. The legal document generators produce starting-point templates, not legal advice, and the health and fitness tools are not medical advice. If a result is important, double-check it.
Frequently asked questions
- Is EverydayTools really free?
- Yes. Every tool is free to use, with no account, no sign-up and no usage limit.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. There are no accounts anywhere on the site — every tool works the moment you open it.
- Do you store what I type into a tool?
- No. Almost every tool runs entirely in your browser, so what you type or the files you open are never sent to our servers. A small number of Geo tools have to contact an outside service to work, and each says so on its own page; see the Privacy page for the full list.
- Can I use these tools on my phone?
- Yes. Every tool is designed to work on a phone, tablet or desktop browser.
- Can I suggest a new tool or report a problem?
- Not yet — a contact address isn't set up on this build.
- Can I use EverydayTools tools in my own project?
- The site itself isn't licensed for reuse elsewhere. If you're after an embeddable widget or an API for a specific tool, that isn't something the site currently offers.
