Password Generator
Generate a strong random password using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator.
About this tool
Uses crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure random source, the same quality of randomness used for real security purposes, not Math.random. Every character is equally likely to be any of the allowed characters, and each set you've switched on is guaranteed to appear at least once, so the password satisfies sites that insist on a number or a symbol.
The strength line under the password shows how much randomness it contains: each bit doubles the number of guesses needed. Around 80 bits or more is very strong; 16 characters from all four sets gives about 104. Exclude ambiguous removes l, 1, I, O and 0, handy when you'll need to read the password out or type it from paper. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
