Argon2 Hash Generator
Generate an Argon2id password hash, or verify a password against an existing one, with adjustable memory/time/parallelism cost — all in your browser.
About this tool
Uses argon2-browser, a WebAssembly build of the reference Argon2 implementation — not a hand-rolled version of the algorithm, since Argon2 is complex and easy to get subtly wrong. Argon2id is the variant recommended by most current guidance (including OWASP) as a general-purpose default, combining resistance to both side-channel and GPU-cracking attacks. Higher memory and time cost make the hash slower and more expensive to brute-force — the defaults here (19 MB memory, 2 iterations, parallelism 1) follow OWASP's 2026 guidance, but check current recommendations for your use case. Hashing with real-world parameters is deliberately slow, so generation may take a second or more. Everything runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly — no password is ever sent to a server.
