Break Scheduler

Plan staggered breaks so the shop floor is never left short: list who is in, set the break length and how many can be off at once, and get a fair break time for everyone.

Add someone's own hours after their name, like “Priya 10:00-16:00”; otherwise they use the shift times below.

About this tool

Each person's break is placed as close to the middle of their own shift as possible, in five-minute steps, without ever having more than your chosen number of people off the floor at once. If there isn't room for everyone, the planner says who couldn't be fitted, so you can shorten the buffer, allow two people off together or split breaks. Your list and settings are kept on this device.

In Great Britain, adult workers are legally entitled to an uninterrupted 20-minute rest break when they work more than 6 hours, and workers under 18 to 30 minutes after 4½ hours. Rows are highlighted if a shift is over 6 hours but the break is shorter than 20 minutes. Your contract or company policy may give more.
