Instagram Grid Splitter

Split one photo into equal tiles — a strip, a 2×2, 3×2 or classic 3×3 grid, in square or the new portrait 3:4 shape — numbered in the order to post them, all processed in your browser.

The image is centre-cropped to match the grid's overall shape before slicing, so if your photo's proportions don't match the grid exactly, some of the edges will be trimmed off.

About this tool

Pick a grid size and the photo is first centre-cropped on a canvas so its overall proportions match that grid, then sliced into equal tiles at Instagram’s full 1080-pixel width and saved as high-quality JPEGs. Nothing is uploaded anywhere; everything happens locally on the canvas.

Since early 2025 Instagram’s profile grid shows posts as portrait 3:4 rectangles rather than squares, so square tiles get their edges trimmed in the grid and no longer line up. Portrait 3:4 tiles (1080 × 1440) match the current grid; choose square only if you specifically want the classic look. Post the tiles in the numbered order, one after another, and don’t post anything else in between or the pieces will shift out of line.
