About this tool
A simplified schematic, not a pixel-perfect railroad diagram. Each box is one step of the pattern, read left to right; an arc over a box means it repeats. Groups show their alternatives joined with "OR", and lookarounds and named groups are labelled ("followed by", "preceded by", the group's name). Escaped characters such as \. are shown as the literal character they match. Long steps are shortened inside the box, so the full description of every step is listed underneath the diagram.
