Shows the gap between two dates exactly, as years, months and days counted on the calendar, so 31 January to 1 March is 1 month and 1 day. It also gives the total in days, weeks and days, months and days, and hours. Only the decimal years figure is an average, based on the 365.2425-day length of a calendar year.
By default the start date isn't counted, so Monday to Friday is 4 days; tick Include the end date to count both, making it 5, which is how holiday or event durations are usually counted. If the end date is before the start, the dates are swapped and the result says so.
