Multi-Calendar Converter
Convert a date between the Gregorian calendar and the Islamic (Hijri) or Hebrew calendars, and see it in ten other calendars too.
About this tool
The Islamic date uses the "tabular" civil calendar — a fixed, deterministic arithmetic scheme used by many computer systems and historians, not the moon-sighting-based dates many Muslim communities use for religious observance, which can differ by a day or two depending on region and local sighting reports. The Hebrew date is calculated from the traditional molad (new moon) and the four postponement rules (dechiyot) that have fixed Hebrew calendar dates since the calendar's standardisation in the 4th century CE — this part is a precise, universally agreed calculation, not an approximation.
The list of other calendars (Persian, Chinese, Umm al-Qura and more) comes from your browser’s built-in calendar support, so a calendar your browser doesn’t know is simply left out. The Umm al-Qura calendar is the official one in Saudi Arabia and is usually closer to observed dates than the tabular Hijri calendar; even so, the dates of Ramadan and Eid are confirmed by local moon sighting.
