About this tool
Dress sizes follow fixed steps between countries: a UK 12 is a US 8, a German or Dutch 40, a French or Spanish 42 and an Italian 44. Australian sizes match the UK, and Japanese sizes run one below. The measurements shown are typical of UK high-street brands, which grow by about 5 cm a size up to a 16 and by 7 cm above that.
Fit still varies between brands and cuts, so if you’re between sizes, use the brand’s own chart and the measurement that matters most for the garment: bust for tops and dresses, hips for skirts and fitted trousers. Your last choice is remembered on this device.
