About this tool
Each system measures the shoe’s last, the foot-shaped form it’s made on. UK and US sizes go up a third of an inch (a barleycorn) at a time, European sizes two-thirds of a centimetre (a Paris point), and Mondopoint is simply the foot length in millimetres. US women’s sizes run one above US men’s, and children’s sizes run from 0 to 13½ before adult size 1.
Brands round these differently, which is why the same foot can be a UK 8 in one brand and an 8½ in another. To find your size, stand on a sheet of paper, mark your heel and longest toe, and measure the gap. Measure both feet and use the longer one. Your last entry is remembered on this device.
