Local File Renamer
Build a new filename interactively from a template, then download the renamed file — nothing is uploaded, it all happens in your browser.
About this tool
Choose one file, then build up its new name using the quick-insert buttons (today's date, the original name, a starting counter block) or by typing custom text to insert — everything lands in the editable field above, which you can also edit by hand. The buttons insert at the end of the current text as a simple rule of thumb, rather than tracking your exact cursor position, so just reorder the text afterwards if you want something in the middle. The counter button is really just a convenient starting point ("001") you can tweak by hand, since with a single file there's nothing to count — for renaming a whole batch at once with an automatically incrementing number, see Local File Batch Renamer instead. The file's extension is always kept exactly as it was and can't be changed here, so you can't accidentally turn a file into a type your computer won't open correctly — and the file's actual content is never touched either, only its name. Nothing is uploaded; the rename and download both happen entirely on your device.
