About this tool

Choose a file, pick a chunk size (a quick preset or your own custom value), and this tool slices the file's raw bytes into that many equal-sized pieces — the last piece is simply whatever's left over, so it's usually a little smaller than the rest. Each part downloads with a systematic name: the original filename with .partNNN added, zero-padded to three digits, e.g. video.mp4.part001, video.mp4.part002, and so on. This padding matters: plain alphabetical sorting puts part10 before part2 if the numbers aren't padded, so zero-padding to three digits keeps everything in the correct order on any computer. To keep it that way, a split is limited to 999 parts; if your chosen chunk size would need more, the tool asks you to pick a bigger one. To put the file back together later, use the companion File Joiner tool, select all of the part files together, and it will sort them by filename and reassemble the original bytes in the right order. Nothing is uploaded anywhere; the splitting and all downloads happen entirely on your device.
