About this tool

The same name means different sizes in different countries. A UK king (150 × 200 cm) is closest to a US queen, while a US king (193 × 203 cm) is wider than a UK super king. European mattresses are almost all 200 cm long and named by width, and UK doubles are 190 cm long, so a European 140 × 200 mattress is 5 cm wider and 10 cm longer than a UK double.

Fitted sheets usually cope with a centimetre or two, but not 10, so check the “compared with yours” column before buying bedding or a mattress for a frame from another country. These are the standard nominal sizes; measure your own mattress if in doubt.
