package.json Generator
Fill in the fields below to build a valid, correctly-structured package.json for a Node.js or npm project.
About this tool
Fill in the fields and a valid, neatly formatted package.json builds as you type, using the field names npm expects: name, version, type, main, scripts, dependencies, devDependencies, engines, license, keywords and repository. Empty sections are left out rather than written as empty objects, and a GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket address is turned into the git+https://….git form npm prefers.
Warnings appear if the name breaks npm's rules (lowercase, no spaces, at most 214 characters, optional @scope/), the version isn't semantic (such as 1.0.0), or a dependency version doesn't look like a range. Choose ES modules to use import and export in .js files; tick “private” for apps you'll never publish, which also stops accidental npm publish. Nothing is uploaded or installed: run npm install afterwards to fetch the packages.
