SWOT Analysis Grid Builder
Fill in strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and get a clean SWOT grid, plus prompts to turn it into strategy: how to use strengths to seize opportunities and counter threats.
About this tool
A SWOT analysis sorts what you know into four boxes. Strengths and weaknesses are internal: things about your business, team or project that you control. Opportunities and threats are external: the market, competitors, regulation and the economy. Be specific and honest: “strong reviews (4.8 stars from 600 reviews)” is more useful than “good reputation”, and a SWOT with no real weaknesses isn’t much use to anyone.
A SWOT on its own is only a list, so the strategy prompts (sometimes called a TOWS matrix) help you act on it: how you can use strengths to take opportunities, fix weaknesses that would stop you taking them, use strengths to counter threats, and avoid the places where a weakness meets a threat. Copy the grid into a document or slide, print it or download it. Your analysis is remembered on this device.
