About this tool

Minutes record what was agreed, not everything that was said. Keep discussion points short, list decisions separately so they’re easy to find later, and make sure every action has a single named owner and a date. Type actions as “task - owner - due date” and they’re set out as a table; dates such as “Friday” or “31 Oct” are worked out from the meeting date.

Send the minutes within a day or two while the meeting is fresh, and start the next meeting by checking last time’s actions. For formal meetings, such as a charity trustees’ or a company board meeting, minutes are approved at the next meeting and kept as the official record. Copy the formatted minutes straight into an email or Word, or download them. Your notes are remembered on this device.
