Turn This Text Into a Table

Paste loosely-structured text and get a clean table. Works with tab-separated, comma-separated, pipe-separated, or just lined-up columns — it detects the delimiter and builds a table you can copy as Markdown or download as CSV.

About this tool

Paste text that’s meant to be a table but isn’t (rows copied from a PDF or web page, a CSV file opened as text, a Markdown table, aligned columns from an email or report, or a list of “Name: value” lines) and it’s laid out as a proper table as you type. It works out the separator itself, keeps commas inside quoted CSV fields together, drops the dashed divider line from Markdown tables, and spots whether the first row is a header. If it guesses wrong, choose the separator yourself.

Copy for Excel or Word puts the table on your clipboard so it pastes straight into cells or as a formatted table. You can also copy it as Markdown for a README or chat, or download a CSV that opens correctly in Excel, accented characters included. Your text is kept in this browser until you clear it, and nothing is uploaded.
