About this tool
Type a player's name next to their number. Numbers with a name turn green, the lowest free number is shown at the top, and if the same name appears against two numbers you'll be warned. Empty boxes show the traditional 11-a-side position for numbers 1 to 11 (1 for the goalkeeper, 9 for the centre forward and so on) as a guide, but squad numbers can go to anyone.
Professional leagues fix squad numbers for the whole season, and grassroots team sheets usually need to match the numbers on the shirts, so it's worth keeping this list up to date. Download the CSV for a kit supplier's name-and-number order. The list is saved on this device.
