About this tool
Formations are read from the back: a 4-2-3-1 has four defenders, two holding midfielders, three attacking midfielders and one striker, plus the goalkeeper. Type your players in the order shown under the list (goalkeeper first, then each line from left to right, working forwards), with a shirt number in front if you like. Anyone after the starting line-up is listed as a substitute.
Grassroots formats have their own shapes: FA youth football plays 5v5 at under-7 and under-8, 7v7 at under-9 and under-10, and 9v9 at under-11 and under-12, before moving to 11-a-side. Download the line-up as an image to post in the parents' group or print for the dressing room. Your team is saved on this device for next week.
