GPS Time / UTC Converter
Convert between GPS time and UTC — GPS time doesn't include leap seconds, so it's currently 18 seconds ahead of UTC.
About this tool
GPS time started on 6 January 1980, in sync with UTC at that moment, but unlike UTC it never adds leap seconds — so the gap between the two grows every time a leap second is added to UTC. The last leap second was added on 31 December 2016, bringing the offset to its current 18 seconds; no leap second has been added since, and there's an active move internationally to phase them out entirely by 2035. This tool uses the full leap-second table, so a date in 2010 correctly uses 15 seconds and one in 1985 uses 4.
GPS receivers and log files often give the time as a week number and the seconds into that week, counted from midnight between Saturday and Sunday. Older receivers only store the week in 10 bits, so it rolls over every 1,024 weeks (about 19.6 years). It last did so in April 2019, which is why the 10-bit week is shown as well. Both inputs are in UTC and GPS time respectively, not your local time.
