About this tool
A reward’s value is the cash you save divided by the points you spend: a £450 flight that costs 40,000 points plus £50 in taxes and fees saves £400, which is 1p a point. If paying cash would have earned you points, their value is taken off the saving, because you give those up by using points.
Whether that’s good depends on what else you could do with the points. Some schemes have a fixed spending value, such as Nectar at 0.5p a point; for airline miles, 1p a point is a common yardstick, with long-haul premium cabins often doing much better. Your figures are saved on this device.
