About this tool

A length is one end of the pool to the other. “Lap” is used both for a length and for there and back, so this shows both. In a 25 m pool a mile (1609 m) is 65 lengths, and the 1500 m “swimmer’s mile” is 60; in a 25-yard pool the swimmer’s mile is 66 lengths (1650 yards). Targets that don’t divide evenly are rounded up to finish at the end of the pool.

The counter is made for the poolside: tap +1 at the end of each length and it shows the distance, total time and how long the last length took. It’s saved on this device as you go, so it survives the screen locking.
