About this tool

Each member receives their shares ÷ total shares × the winnings. A share can be anything you all agree on: one share per line bought, or simply the amount each person paid in (enter 10 for someone who paid £10 and 5 for someone who paid £5). Payouts are worked out in whole pennies, and any pennies left over from rounding go one each to the members whose exact share was closest to the next penny, so the total always matches and the split is as fair as it can be.

Write your syndicate's rules down before you play: who's in, how much each person pays, who buys the tickets and what happens if someone misses a payment. The National Lottery and the Health Lottery both offer free syndicate agreement templates. If a large win comes in, the person who bought the ticket claims it and then shares it out, so a written agreement protects everyone. Names you enter stay in your browser.
