Wi-Fi Network Name Generator
Find a funny, punny, plain or personalised name for your home Wi-Fi network, checked against the 32-byte limit routers allow.
About this tool
Your Wi-Fi name (the SSID) is visible to everyone nearby, so it’s a chance to make the neighbours smile. Pick a style and keep pressing for more; names aren’t repeated until you’ve seen the whole list, and you can save favourites on this device. To change it, log in to your router (the address is usually on a sticker on the back) and look for Wi-Fi or wireless settings. Every device will need to reconnect with the same password.
Routers allow up to 32 bytes, which is 32 ordinary letters, but emoji and accented letters use more, so the tool flags anything too long. A surname is fine for most homes, but avoid your house number, full name or router make, because together they tell passers-by which network is yours and what equipment you use. If your router broadcasts separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, the plain names include versions to tell them apart.
