About this tool
When someone shares a link, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, WhatsApp, Slack and most messaging apps show a preview card using the image named in the page’s og:image tag. The recommended size is 1200 × 630 pixels, a ratio of about 1.91 to 1, which is what this tool makes. The title shrinks to fit up to three lines, and is shortened with an ellipsis if it’s still too long.
Keep the important words away from the edges: some apps, including WhatsApp in some views, crop the preview to a square from the centre, which the crop guide shows (it isn’t included in the download). JPEG files are much smaller and load faster; PNG keeps text sharper. Upload the image to your site and add its full address to the og:image and twitter:image tags, which the Meta Tag Generator writes for you. Your text and colours are remembered on this device; logos aren’t saved.
