Split Bill Calculator
Split a restaurant bill fairly: evenly, or by what each person had, with shared dishes and service charge divided properly.
About this tool
When people order very different amounts, splitting evenly isn't fair. Enter what each person had, add anything you all shared, such as starters, sides or a bottle of wine, and the shared total is divided equally. Service is then split in proportion to what each person's share comes to, so whoever spent more pays more of the service. Or choose “Split evenly” for a quick equal share.
In the UK many restaurants add a discretionary service charge of 10 to 12.5%; tick “already included” if it's on the bill so it isn't added twice. Since October 2024, employers must pass all tips and service charges on to staff. Rounding up gives everyone a round amount to pay, and the extra is shown so you can leave it as a tip.
