Colour Mixer
Blend two colours together at any ratio.
About this tool
Mixes the two colours at the chosen ratio, the way screens and CSS’s color-mix() do. It isn’t a simulation of mixing physical paint: blue and yellow paint make green, but blue and yellow light blend towards grey or white.
The blend space changes the colours in between. sRGB, the classic method, averages the red, green and blue numbers directly; it’s what older CSS gradients and most image editors do, and it often gives a muddy, greyish middle (blue to yellow goes through grey). OKLab blends by perceived lightness and colour, so the steps look evenly spaced and the middle stays clean. OKLCH also keeps the colours saturated by travelling round the hue wheel, which can pass through extra hues (blue to yellow via green or pink). Linear light behaves like overlapping beams of light and gives brighter midpoints.
