About this tool

Press Start to begin timing, Lap at any point to record a split without stopping the clock, and Stop to pause. Reset clears the display and the lap list back to zero. Elapsed time is measured from real timestamps rather than by counting timer ticks, so it stays accurate even if the browser tab is in the background. Each lap row shows the lap number, the split (time since the previous lap) and the cumulative total elapsed time at that point. Once you have three or more laps, the fastest and slowest are highlighted, and Copy laps copies them as a table you can paste into a spreadsheet.

On a keyboard, press Space to start and stop, L to record a lap and R to reset, so you don't need to aim for a button while timing.

How precise is the timer?
Times are shown to the nearest hundredth of a second (centiseconds), which is plenty for everyday timing — cooking, exercise intervals, presentations and so on.
Does it keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The elapsed time is calculated from the actual start time rather than counted ticks, so switching tabs or minimising the browser won't cause it to lose time.
Can I add laps before starting?
No — the Lap button is only enabled once the stopwatch is running, so you can't record a meaningless lap at zero.
