About this tool
The Pomodoro technique alternates focused work sessions with short breaks to help sustain concentration: by default 25 minutes of work followed by a 5-minute break, repeated four times before a longer 15-minute break. Set your own work, short break and long break lengths above, press Start, and the timer will count down and switch phases automatically, with a short beep to mark each change. Skip jumps straight to the next phase if you want to end a session early; Reset returns everything to the beginning.
- Can I change the session lengths?
- Yes — adjust the Work, Short break and Long break fields at any time; a new value takes effect the next time that phase starts.
- Why didn't I hear the beep?
- Browsers only allow sound after you've interacted with the page, so the first beep is enabled the moment you press Start. Make sure your device isn't muted.
- Does my progress survive a page reload?
- The completed Pomodoro count resets if you reload the page, so it's best to leave this tab open while you work.
