Late In, Later Out Calculator

Arrived late? Work out a fair finish time so you're not costing your employer any productivity.

—
Turning up late regularly is still a problem worth sorting out — persistent lateness can lead to disciplinary action regardless of whether you stay on to make up the time, and your employer isn't obliged to let you stay beyond your shift or to honour that extra time at all.

About this tool

The suggested time is your lateness plus a 3-minute buffer — a small margin so you're clearly not shortchanging your employer. Staying on to genuinely work the make-up time shows good character and, especially if lateness is infrequent, can often (though never guaranteed) go a long way toward smoothing things over. Clocking extra time without actually working it isn't making up for anything — it's just falsifying your hours.
