About this tool
This measures how long it takes your browser to download a file hosted on EverydayTools.co.uk, then converts that into megabits per second. Because the file is served from this site rather than a dedicated speed-test network, results can be affected by this server's own capacity — treat it as a useful real-world check rather than a lab-grade benchmark, and run it a few times for a steadier reading.
