About this tool
A random passage is shown; start typing and the timer starts on your first keystroke. Each character you type is checked against the passage at the same position and highlighted green (correct) or red (incorrect) as you go. Words-per-minute is calculated as (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed, the standard typing-test formula. Accuracy is the percentage of typed characters that matched the passage at their position. Your top 10 scores are saved to a leaderboard kept only in this browser's local storage — nothing is uploaded or shared with anyone else.
